Don't know for sure but was just told gas went to $4.00 close to home Ijust saw the long lines but heard on radio gas is 5.00 in Kansas? Anybody verify that? :U :U
the rumor in west central illinois is $3.00 gas by morning,so everybody is in line at the stations.gas has gone from $1.77 to $1.89 in 3 hours. i took a drive to west quincy, missouri(where gas is at least .08 a gal cheaper) and the lines were long, but get this!!!! the 1st station,$1.74,2nd station $1.69,3rd station i didn't look, their gas sucks,4th station Amoco $1.58. since the lines were too long i just went home. i've got 20 gallons left in my 42 gallon suburban, but if it goes dry,i'll need a home equity loan to fill up!!! i last filled up b/4 labor day weekend @$1.47/gal and the vette has 3/4 of a tank and the wife's rav4 has 3/4 of a tank. i think i'll try to ride it out.
to sort of change the subject, today, probably thousands of people died in new york and we americans are more concerned about filling our gas tanks. what a bunch of greedy, selfish, conceited SOBs we have become,MYSELF in- cluded, and the oil guys too!!!!! :(
Went to the pumps about 3:00pm to fill my truck, at $1.69 gallon for reg. Went back to fill the vette about 8:00, $1.89 for reg., $2.09 for premium, with lines around the block.
I hear in Detroit some people are paying $5.00 for regular tonight. If they are not flying jets into buildings, they are hitting everyone in the wallet with the gas gouging. Maybee this was their big plan?!?!
I agree Gary79. How funny! buildings are falling and people are saying "$3.00 a gallon...outragous!" Not trying to flame. Getting gas is the least of my worries right now. But as for people trying to profit from disaster, and us killing their government leader...My boss is ALWAYS open. I work in the mall here, and even if the mall is closed his store is open. We had hurricains here and he was open! In fact he opened 5 hours early and closed 3 hours later(was only close like 4 hours a day), just because he was making a killing off of rescue workers. This guy is GREEDY! People like him anger me :mad :mad
You know what? It's the last thing on my mind!!!! How long is one tank going to last you anyway, a couple of days. Screw it, I will stay home if I can't drive. Please let the gas issue go, it's not the end of the world. You are only furfilling the wishes of people that committed these haness crimes.
I bought gas tonight at $1.69 for reg. and long lines, police directing traffic, I live in n/w pa.over the border in oh,12 miles away gas was $3.05, does'nt make sense.....jbh
It's a nightmare trying to get gas here in Indiana. I'm up in the NW. My sister who lives in Indianapolis called this afternoon and told me gas down there is nearing $5.00 a gallon and there are people lined up to buy it! There are a few places around here that have hit over $4.00. Soon as I got home from work I checked the Geo which is full (months supply). Took the Toyota Truck to the nearest station and paid $1.70. Then I headed to Walmart and bought two 5 gallon cans. On the way back every station had lines blocks long! Went home and put the 5 gallon cans in the Vette which was sucking fumes. This time I went the opposite way into my little hick town thinking the lines wouldn't be as bad. Ha! 2 blocks long...but the lines moved really quick because there was an attendtent directing traffic AND they are rationing! $10 cash in advance! Left with a ¼ tank and two empty gas cans. Went out again at 10:00 pm and the gas stations are all out of gas! Found a speedway that was still open. Pulled in with Vette and managed to get $2.25 in the tank before the regular ran out. Switched to the "plus" and finished filling up plus I filled up my 5 gallon cans. As I was leaving the attendant came out with out of service covers for the pumps. She said there was 88 gallons of "plus" left and that's it! They also had no idea when the next shippment of gas will arrive.
By tomorrow morning gas will be impossible to find around here.
Maybe I was being paranoid going through all this but better safe than sorry and it's not like it will go to waste.
There is no shortage, oil companies have said so and flow is normal if not elevated. If you buy at high prices you feed the frenzy and line the pockets of greedy merchants. This is your chance to telll the local merchants who are at fault to f off and you will not stand for there crap!!!!! :mad :mad :mad :mad
I heard on the radio that the refineries are closed down for security reasons. It's just me... and I have three cars, so I hope I have enough gas in them to get past these times :( :( :(
gouging is illegal and these people should be dealt with accordingly!!! I know that the GBI here in Ga is not playing with these People....Gas seems to be normal no lines and no price increases..........SO FAR
There is no gasoline shortage. The greedy among us are showing their true colors. It's a shame we play into their hands this way. A terrorist wants to incite panic, distrust, and fear. That's the way he works. Unfortunately, there are always those among us who play right into the hands of these people.
:(
As in all crisis this will bring out the best in people helping others and it will also bring out the worse in people taking advantage of others. It's time Amreicans bond together in one soild union to fight this evil. People want a safe place to live and bring up their families. They will give up almost anything including their freedoms. Listen up America there is no safe place,
There never was. Jim
