Default Backfire after WOT run

Some times after a WOT run to about 6000 rpms in first gear when I let off to slow down it will backfire really hard out of the exhaust. My mufflers look like I set off a pipe bomb in them. Is there a way to fix this?

Are you just running to 6000 and backing off still in first gear, not shifting?

I have already told you c5's are out of the question. Do you have any idea of the insurance rates on a c5 for a 17 year old?

Depends on what ones. This is the top 10 most expensive cars to insure. Or so says MSN.

1 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
2 Mercedes CL-Class
3 Dodge SRT-4
4 Subaru Impreza WRX
5 Jaguar XK (convertible)
6 Lexus IS 300
7 Honda S2000
8 Acura RSX
9 Nissan 350Z
10 Jaguar XJ

I guess I could get like a civic or something.

Damn you have two sets of wheels to drive can't figure out why the
trans and rear end are not on the garage floor or at least the trans
for the new converter.

When you go to buy a trans cooler try to get one that does not use
plastic ties running through the radiator. find another way to mount it
away from the fins.

Ya, I was gonna make a braket to mount it in front of the radiator where the air cond. equipment use to be.

If it's blowing up your mufflers when you run it up to 6000 RPM and let your foot off the gas then I would not do that anymore. I have had hotrods for over 30 years and can't think of one time I have done that or even wanted to do that in first. Really can't be good for anything

Justin is determaned to get those 3.08s to do something but they will
not cooperate. Whish I had my old 302 with the cam that would do
nothing till 4000 rpm to ship up to him and let him try it out in front
of his 3 speed auto, stock converter , 308s. he would think the
combo he has now is strong. There may have been good reason
why chevy would not let you have an auto behind the torque
monster 302.
