!968 BB / 427 standard trans. What is the recomended spark plug used, and what should the gap be???

AC 43 XLS Gap .035.

I have also R43XLS standard plug, but due to clearance problems I tired AC B41-629 which is 1/4" shorter (the ceramic part). But the B41-629 seems to be too hot, the plug has stayed really white.

So anybody knowing any brand shorter plug that is having same heat range as R43XLS
