Default C3 Frame Vin # location?

I hang out on the C1/C2 forum, but a client of mine just purchased a C2 with what appears to be a C3 frame (removable transmission cross support), with modifications to accept the C2 body.

He's curious as to where to look for the frame Vin # on this frame so he can date that component of the car. Is it in the same location (on top of the dog leg on the driver's side) as on a C2? He's hoping that with an inspection mirror he can get a look at it.

So, where should he look to spot the Vin # without having to pull the body, which isn't likely to happen?

Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share

The VIN number is stamped into the frame on the driver side in back of the wheel under the body.

Also apparently on top of the frame under the drivers seat (frame-off to view).

BUT...the C2 frame is most like the C3 frame, same basic frame from 63-82.

I think the C2's with auto trans had removeable x-member.
