I don't know... going to be tough to find a mechanical secondary Quadrajet. They only made about a hundred million of them. ALL Quadrajets are mechanical secondary carburetors.

BigBlockk is correct - All Q-Jets are mech sec carbs.
Your 72 setup, if you want to keep you choke system operable and correct, has the limitation that you need to find a '68 through '74 Chevy Q-Jet. You can use any car or truck Q-Jet in this year range, with the '70-74 being the most versatile and reliable. These will interface with our choke linkage and throttle linkage without problem. Find a carb that has not been commercially rebuilt (commercial rebuilt carbs are real junk). Go through it and set it up to its stock correct jetting specs. It will run great.
Keep an eye on eBay. I was able to find a carb with the correct date code for my 76 in roughly 2 months. It was in good shape and a rebuild based on lars' papers and a kit from oreilly's has it running beautifully.
