Gonna put a 3:70 Gear it's a 4 speed.Yes,I agree Holley 3310-C with a Performer. I take it the Performer allows adequate hood clearence?

The regular Performer (NOT RPM or Air Gap) will fit under the stock hood with no problems or changes.
Yes, Q-Jets have been called "Quadradog", "Quadrabog", "Quadraquit" by illinformed folks who never bothered to learn how they work,..and work they did,..on about 10 million GM cars. That's called versatility. And with some understanding and some tuning, gearheads learned to make Q-jets (which have 750 cfm) whistle dixie on performance cars supporting 500 HP and enjoyed better mileage as a reward.
I'll take a Q-Jet over a vacuum secondary Holley any day.
If I were to do it again, I'd still go back to Demon
I would really like to know why people think the "Jet is such a bad carburetor. Maybe you should talk to Greg Gessler. He has a 1972 Buick GS that has run a best of 11.02 in legal F.A.S.T. trim. This car weights 3800+ Lbs and must run bias ply street tires, factory intake, factory heads and exhaust manifolds. It even has power windows (hay, it's a Buick).
That works out to something like 600 HP. Yep, just a POS carburetor.
