Depends on if you have aluminum heads and/or intake.

BBC iron heads are big time heavy.

An iron headed bigblock 610 pounds and the same small block 470 or 140 pounds less.
A set of aluminum heads for the bigblock drop that value about 80 pounds or 530 pounds.

Mine comes from a hot rod article where they compared a small block to a big block and they show the big block on the scales and get 610 with iron heads.
Tomorrow when I am at work I could give you the name of the magazine, the date on the cover and the page if you want to look it up.
They did use iron heads on the big block.

So essentially you CAN get a big block as light as a small block, it'd just cost as much as an LS7 by the time you're done.

Whatever it is don't drop it on your foot!
I just pulled my 454 a few months ago and it was heeeeavy.
680 sounds about right.
Definitely worth the weight. Aluminum heads are lighter, better heat transfer and better perf.
