Man clutch you just made this even more complicated!

I'm gonna wait till the morning and see what's up and ask him about drilling and tapping the heads. My manifold is just the stock aluminum manifold, but I'd rather keep my costs down as much as possible right now.

I'd still have a craptastic 8.5:1 compression, even with porting. Not much performance gain there. Plus they were already ported during the rebuild.

The L98 has the standard bolt pattern (non-vortec). I used the same intake on my 98's that I had on my camel backs.

I'm about 90% sure I'm going to take clutchdust up on his offer, but a few questions for those that know vortec heads.

First is I know they're not ready stock for a high lift cam, what needs to be done to prepare them for a higher lift cam? Second, would 2.02/1.6 valves help alot, a little, or not much at all? Since I'm going to have them rebuilt anyways I figured I'd get all the work done on them at once so I don't end up back tracking as much. Last, how do you go about drilling and tapping them for standard manifolds? If it's more cost effective to drill and tap them I may do that, but if it's too much of a hassle or weakens them I'll just spend the $120 and get a cheapo performer copy.

Not sure if you can convert one to electric

I think the Hot air divorced chokes work great.

Can't remember but I THINK you can. Lars would probably know better than me on that.

If I couldn't use electric, I'd use a manual choke.

L98 casting number - 10088113 as you said. Bolt pattern is same as all gen 1 small blocks, as are water flow characteristics.
