Default New Floor Pans?

Hi All
The time has come to replace the floor pans in my 80 Vette.
My wife got in the car today and her heel went through the
floor.....Not Good
Where would be the best place to buy new ones? I see Corvette
Central has them for $259.95 each.
Could I replace them myself in the garage or is this a job for the
body shop?
Barry

I have looked in all the mags they are all the same price I guess its all who you like the best. This will be my inter project, the front is rivited to fire wall , no problem there . If you hve mig welder the rest shouldnt be to bad either, when you cut the old floor out make sure you leave yourself a lip to weld to. If you dont have a welder they make panel bonder rated for like 5000 psi they use this in body shops today for major repairs , however they still weld a small amount . also seam sealer top and bottom would seal up the repair nicely.

I would take it to a body shop and have them install it. It's not a job for the novice.

Not a big jog
DR rebuild has quality pans
A drill and rivits/bolts will work fine
I did my drivers side a while ago....... no big deal.

You can do it yourself, I did both of mine with panel-adhesive + rivets. Try to find a set of pans cut out of another car, they'll fit better than the reproduction ones. I got mine on ebay after searching for a couple of months. A shop will charge you a FORTUNE to do this job.

I think I'll give it a try myself, I have a mig welder
and all winter to work on it. Only thing is
by the time I get the pans delivered they will be about
$300.00 each. That is a lot of money
Thanks

Maybe you would like to tell us what year your car is so someone could possibly locate pans at a less expensive price?
