Default PS Pump leaking BAD!!! Options?

I know it is going to need to be replaced. I need some recomendations on where to buy. VB&P??? I annot keep fluid in it and with a hydro boost setup that is not good. The lines are not leaking so it must be coming out of the shaft seal.

you can get a reman from most auto stores. There is an issue with the line pressure for vettes, its lower than for other cars. Pull your existing regulator spring out and put it in the new one, other than that there is nothing magic about it.
Damn your car looks good

Every replacement power steering pump I have seen has the metric thread for the stud that bolts the pump to the bracket. For the best and cheapest replacement I would buy a pump from your GM dealer along with the correct stud to fit it. Then use GM fluid and you should be set. Of course you can get pumps from auto stores but I don't believe them to be as good. For the very best and most expensive, buy a power steering pump with a remote resevoire like the one from KRC. Those are the two ways I would go!

Default Try manual steer?

Well if your desperate enough u can remove some of the PS parts and drive just using the manual steering. I'm in the process of fully converting to manual steering now and discoverd that PS can be converted with the exception of center link dampner.

This was written in a book by David Emanual to just remove the PS pmp, hoses, slave cyl and then relocate the tierod arms to the rear position on the steering knuckle. Rear setting is for slow steering and much less effort than the forward setting unless at freeway speeds. Finaly realign only for toe. You are now manual steer minus the danmpner and can return to PS when parts are ready. U continue to use the PS center link and pitman arm (man what a PIA to remove).

I wrote more on this in a previous post so feel free to archive search or look in my profile for posts for more info.

I know what you are going through. I changed everything in my PS system and still leaked out the shaft seal. Drove me crazy. I thought about power steering stop leak and put it off. Until one day at the auto parts store a bottle was sitting right in front of me on the counter. What the hell I bought it. I kick myself every time I think about it. I poured the fluid in and no more leaks. Stopped the leak right away. That was over a year ago. Give it a shot, may work for you too
