Default Center Clutch Plate

Hi.
Does anybody know if the Center Plate on a clutch (for a 1977 small block) is a 23 fine spline?

Chevy's use 10 spline or 26 spline clutch discs (they never used a 23 spline). Your '77 should be 26 splne (like my '75).

Thanks for that info SteveG75.
I have just bought a replacement engine and it has a 23 spline clutch disc on it, I haven't removed my engine yet, hence the question. So it looks like I will have to change it to a 26 spline.

Hi

This spline business has nothing to do with the engine itself.
You should be able to reuse your old engine's clutch stuff.
The splines are part of the tranny, so if you reuse your tranny, you can also reuse your old clutch stuff.

Good luck. Günther
