Default Any issues running too cool?

I think I did too good of a job getting my vette to run cooler. Now seems to top out around 160 degrees. I know I need to re-program my SPAL controller (currently comes on very early) but I am curious as to whether I should be concnerned. Any issues?

I am also thinking of going back-up to a 180 degree thermostat.

yes there are issue running too cool. if you don't have high enough temps than excess vapors don't burn off and you will form sludge in your oil.

you are running a 160º t-stat? replace it with a 180º and reprogram your fan to kick only at above 180º. you are much better running at 180º than 160º!

Barry is correct. All engines form condensation when started cold. This water goes into the oil and is then supposed to be evaporated and extracted via the PCV system after the engine heats up to operating temp. If you run too cold this never happens and the water stays in the oil. Not good. Same problem if you only drive very short distances.

I am going to swp asap and do an oil change at the same time to be careful.
Thanks
