I had a gas smell in my garage yesterday. When I looked under my 1974 coupe I noticed the hose that connects from the gas tank nipple, and then connects to a gas line along the passenger side frame was leaking. When I touched it the leak got worse. So I put a clamp on it for now to stop the leak. I have to replace it. Can any one tell me the size (diameter) of this hose and it's length???
the supply line is 3/8" and you can buy it by the foot at local auto stores as well as online
while your at it, check the other rubber hoses
If its leaking in one spot u better check/replace all the rubber sections. For a few extra $$ you can buy the fuel injector rubber hose from Napa. Its stronger then the regular hose. Maybe over kill but I don't like messing w/gas. If you can replace as much as possible w/ SS lines and that's the last time you will ever need to replace a gas line. GL
I agree with Paul67 to check the S hose from the frame to the fuel pump.
When I first bought my 75 about 6 months ago I noticed a gas smell and a small drip. After touching the hose, the rubber began to disentegrate, and the drip location turned into a hole, which then was spewing gas out near the fuel pump.
If you are going to start replacing one fuel line hose, then do as much as you can. Depending on how long you have had your car, or when you last did the work, you really dont know how old these hoses are.

These were some of the first hoses I replaced on my '69. Found a leaky rear hose and went ahead and replaced the front 'S' hose for security. Both looked to be the orig items (very tired looking).
