hey guys i had bought new sunvisors for my 80 vette, now they are straight foward to put on but how ever they both how no tension. The drivers side will stay in place but if any wind were to hit the sunvisor it would flip to the down position. As for the passenger side it just doesnt even stay in the upright position and just hangs there. i had bought both visors from corvette america i even bought the hardware kit for the drivers side but nothing seems to work if any one has any suggestions or ways of fixing it please drop a message.
I've had this problem on all of my C3's. My solution, Remove, Archive, Get Sunglasses.
I took mine out years ago, and have never missed them. They halp only if the sun is in that 1/100th of the sky, and ANY variation of dierection puts it back in your eyes. Get dark glasses, remove them, and call it extra view for the lovely sky.
There are metal bands inside the visor that the metal rod slides into. You can compress the bands slightly by putting the edge of the visor in between two pieces of wood and squeezeing in a vise very slightly a little at a time testing the tension until it is to your liking. I bought the same visors, and had the same problem.
You knowI didn't think about that...I do it so I have more blue sky above me. Besides...I'm tall, and I hit my head on them when I lean forward. I just figured it'd be best to get rid of.
