I have the same thing wit ha set of HD points and a Crane HI6 box. I did notice after about 5K niles the rubbing block wore a little so I just reset the gap to about .020. The points don't wear but the rubbing block can and will wear.
Gordon, it's my understanding that the HD points aren't the best to use - at least if you are trying to avoid points float at higher RPM's. They are built more heavy duty as they are (were) basically for truck use but aren't going to give you a higher rpm ability. If that's what you are after than the hi-tension points (28oz-32oz) are best for that.
I put in new points a little over a month ago in my '65 and my NAPA store accidently sold me the HD points instead of the hi-tension points and by 5,000tpn it was breaking up like crazy. I got the correct hi-tension points and now I can take it to 7500rpm easy, she is still pulling strong, and no break-up from points float.
If you don't need to worry about that high of a rpm level than disregard this
