Another master cylinder ?
I have a 69. I have had trouble getting real good brakes on it for some time. I bought a new master cylinder from O'reilley's the other day. I bench bleed it and have a question. I used clear tubing to do the bleeding. The back chamber (the one next to the vice) did not have any fluid movement until the last half of the stroke. What I am saying is, the first 1/2" would move fluid to what would be the front chamber and not any movement to the back chamber until the last 1/2". Is this normal fluid movement? It looks like there should be equal movement if the brakes were going to work right.

I can't say for sure but brake systems apply much more power to the front brakes than the rear brakes to keep the rears from locking before the fronts as well as to compensate for weight transfer during braking. I would guess that unless the master cylinder was rebuilt with the wrong piston that it is operating correctly.
