I feel like an idiot asking this but, I'd rather ask than break something. I am trying to remove the bulb from my front turn signal on my 1969 Corvette. I assumed that it's just one of those push in and twist bulbs but, as hard as I try the damn thing won't cooperate. Am I wrong in my assumption that the bulb comes out that way? Am I doing something wrong?
I went to Ecklers home page and looked up the bulb in question for you car. From the picture it looks to me like its the standard bulb. Push in and twist. Try using some wd 40 and let it soak for a little while.
Thanks for the answer; I never thought to go to a site like Eckler's for the answer, I appreciate your time. Now to get that damn bulb out...............
They have a tendancy to get some rust in there. You might have to break it out but try some W 40 or other penetrating type fluid and this may loosen it up.
Don't use your bare hands. If you ever had a stuck bulb pop in your hand you know what I mean. I f you need to replace it anyway, twist the glass part out of the metal part. Take a pliers and twist the metal part from the socket. Put in a new bulb with some dielectric grease on it.
I broke the old bulb out and tried to insert the bulb from the other side to make sure I didn't damage anything. I was unable to get the bulb to lock in; I'm hoping I just need new bulbs.
Going to get two new bulbs tomorrow and see what happens.

The center contact is spring loaded on the back side. Mine did this. Spray WD 40 or PB Blaster into the socket. Let it sit. Try to push, pull and wiggle the contact at the bottom of the socket. It will probably loosen up. It should push in with your finger and spring back out, you should feel spring pressure with about 1/4" movement in and out. Wipe it out and insert bulb with dielectric grease. This isn't a stupid question, the first one was.: The forum is to provide information that you don't have. There is a lot of experience here to draw on. There are no stupid questions. Good luck
Widebody - Are you making all those or is someone sending them to you. I have almost every one of those pictures, but none have ever had the poster format.
