I have a SNAP-ON VAT, volt amp tester with the adapter post and
has a carbon pile load tester. I think rated at over 300 amps. It
on a stand. If anyone is interested I could sell it as I work or and
rebuilder shop for alt & starters and it just sets in my garage. I seen
the adapter post last year selling for 75.00 on ebay. Would sell
for $100.00 with FREE SHIPPING IN THE LOWER 48"S

Measure volts not amps.
Amps doesn't tell you anything, volts tells you if the Alt is actually regulating properly.
The only reasson to care about amps is so you can say " at 60 amps the alt puts put 13.8 volts"

If it were not an issue all amp ratings would be the same no matter what the demand
