I installed the GM 350HO/330HP crate motor in my car a few years ago and I purchased a new gear and used the old distributor, I want to replace it now as I"ve had to adjust the timing a couple of times. Any suggestions on replacing it and what I should go with??

the HEI is a great unit, leave it be on your stock motor. Headers, exhaust, even intake and heads change will not make a difference - it will run great with the HEI. holy crap, write this date down in history - Gordon and I are agreeing to something!

mine seems to run fine. I'm getting readyto set the timing on it per lars' paper and then work on tuning the carb. I just want to make sure I have everything ready to go before I start.

first go to there site, they explain the differences in the inductive ,coil, how it works,and the capivance system how it charges the spark in milly seconds at high rp ms sorry i got the hiccups whilke typing!!!!!!!!!i used a blaster oil filled coli with my 6a box mounted on the intake angle mount,,after a season it burned out the coil and back fed blowing out the 6 a box,oil coils should be mounted vertically,not a angle,,a air bubble will sit in the windingd and cook them,,,,get a dry type coil and you can evev mount it upsidedown without effecting the coil or box,,,,,,i was told this by n s d after i blew the units out

Where in/on the car can/could I find the original ignition box?
I think that the MSD is messing up the perfomance capabilities of my machine.
The HEI distributor is different than the other I bought for it and at TDC the new Distributor sits in the Contact type distributor position.
Bottom end sucks. It chugs until the RPMS are raised to 1000+ then it runs fine (almost).
Next-how would I find out if the previous owners put a different cam in it? I know, call them and find out, but I don't have there number and the live in another state.

but if you're still not deterred, I have F/S a nice MSD 6600 nascar black box & matching 8250 coil. Email if serious.
