Thank you for the common sense.. Since Vietnam 68, i have been unable to stand or walk. So getting out of the seat unassisted is impossible for me.. I have overhead electrical lifts in both my garages and in my house that i must use to get into my wheelchairs.. Now i know lots of vette owners think that because i,m a paraplegic i shouldn't,t be allowed to own Corvettes , but i don,t give a damn about what anyone thinks about me. I enjoy all five soon to be six of them. All hand controlled along with my other four cars. Now i,ll get a bunch of flames about being sensitive but it is the truth. Do you do H/controls regularly for other paras ? And have you done other vettes ?
If you fought in Nam, you DAMNED well deserve to drive a Corvette or anything else that you desire. I applaud your service to your country and your passion for Corvettes. If a Corvette needs to be modified so that a guy like you can drive and enjoy it, then so be it and to HELL with the so called "purists" out there.

I don't think you'll get any of that BS here, just a big both for driving the vetts and mostly for making more of a sacrifice for the country that 10 of me and my friends.
I have a friend that drives a Trans Am with hand controlls, he's faster than I am at autocross.

If you're extrapolating that generalization from one comment that one jerk made at a car show, then you need to grow a thicker skin and try to drop the paranoia. You like Vettes...that's all we need to know.

The more vettes the better just build more garages !!!!
I've only installed 2 sets of controls so far but have helped my buddy with other obstacles including repairs on his really cool "Titanium" chair. Both cars belong to my buddy Jim(tech. a quad),one is a 74 and the other is a 54.On the 54 I had to modify the door and the seat so he could get in and out.His chair has no brakes so I had to add a cable to keep it in place while he was getting in and out.The 74 is the one that I'm looking into installing the battery access ports in the right gill with a special set of cables. Here is a pic of Jim in his little beauty. He really enjoys this car and the ladys used to love it too but that all came to an end about 4 months----he got married !!!!!
