Pop in exhaust

Pop in exhaust
I have a 73 350 and at a 1000 rpm their is a pop through the exhaust abou every 5-10 seconds. What would be the best thing to check first. The timing and dwell I have checked and they are ok. If yor rev it up the pops get closer together.

I told a friend about the problem and he ask how many times have you just been starting it and not warming up. I said lots of times. He said drive it for a half hour and it fixed the problem.
