Spec Weight vs. Actual Comparison
Actual weight: F 1770(48.8%) R 1860(51.2%) Total 3630#
minus me (180#) 3450#
Spec weight: F 1677(49.2%) R 1730(50.8%) Total 3407#
plus my options (191#) 3598#
Both weights are with full tank of gas. F/R distribution in "Actual" includes me in car, in "Spec" it does not include any options added to the base weight. Therefore, F/R distribution is not entirely accurate for comparison, but gives an idea.
My car is a '73 L48 coupe, TH400, PW,PS, PB, A/C. I have installed aluminum heads & manifold, tubular headers, mini-starter, fiberglas rear spring, and removed the A/C compressor & condenser and smog pump/stuff. OEM rally wheels.
I never thought to weigh it when it was all stock, so I have no "Actual OEM" comparison. Sorry.
That's all. Just thought someone may be interested.
John
PS. Think I should fill the vacuum reservoir full of lead to get the F/R % more balanced?

Here's where I got the spec weight from:

78 SA 4 speed L-82 loaded with options,fuel = 3580#
69 502 coupe 4 speed no A/C,full tank = 3380#
What I find interesting is the engines...not much difference between L-82(fully dressed) and the 502(heavier) but lighter than a cast iron head 427...
