Cam Coating ?
Installed my new cam and lifters months ago....coated really good with the red crap that comes with the cam...I didn't get any further on the engine, never rotated or tried to start it......is the red coating still good or does the cam need ot come back out and be "regreased" before firing? I intend on using Rotella and GM supplement once I'm ready to fire her up again.

Not yet..just been covered up. Just lost interest in over the summere....listened to the sound clip of your car the other day...got me motivated to get it running "again".

Right before you get ready to fire it, pull the lifters and coat the cam lobes again. Rotate the cam 180* and coat the other side of the lobes. Coat the bottom of the lifters and reinstall them. Put some lube on each end of the pushrods and (re)install them. If you're using stock rockers, put some lube on the rocker ***** and install them. Button it up, prelube the oiling system and fire that baby up!!

Most of the liquid assembly lubes hang tight for a long time. But if you'll use a moly paste on the faces & lobes & pr tips & rocker ***** & valve tips it'll hang MUCH longer ... use the liquid elsewhere.
