Default Need some radio help

I have the original am/fm stereo radio I am trying to retain. I cleaned it up including the tuner. Got it working pretty good now, but here's the rub. Left channel plays real good but the right channel is lower. Also, when I adjust the fader, it stays loud on the left until i reach maximum right, then the right plays, but not as loud. As soon as I start to turn the fader back, it it goes to the left channel nice and loud. Would this be a problem in the radio or the amplifier? I also just put new speakers in, so I know it's not a speaker issue.

sounds like the fader control. Its a center tapped rheostat, probly a double stacked one/ You would have to open the radio up, get to the control and open it up and if your lucky and nothing breaks clean up the contact and put it back together. You could also find annother stereo that the fader control works and maybe swap it around. Good Luck

sounds like the inputs on the amp are not correct. If you connect one speaker at a time to the amp, and mess with the fader/balance each time you add one, it'll help with the process.
