In the ongoing saga of bringing life back to our '70, we've hit yet another roadblock. The flasher assembly on the steering column is broken, so the flashers stay on whenever the battery is connected. Unfortunately, I haven't yet purchased a service manual, so if anyone could give me some insight as to how to replace the assembly, it would be wonderful. Thank you for your time!
Replacing the flasher is easy. Replacing the flasher switch requires removal of the steering wheel (requires a steering wheel puller), the steering lock plate (requies a different special puller), and from there it is not too bad. The pullers for this job are not expensive items.
Before I changed the switch, I would unplug the steering column connector and check if the switch is actually the problem by checking continutity across the flasher wires with the switch on and off. If the switch works, you have other problems.

The switch is physically broken, so I'm 99% positive that it's the culprit. Thanks for the help!
