we had previously dealt with recon and others and had several returns with a lot of questions from them but jasper was very curteous and helped us in every way.

I have had a 455 Oldsmobile big block in my prostreet Cutlass for about 9 years. The bottom end (or "short block") is a Class 2 Jasper engine. The engine has seen 1/8 & 1/4 mile action off and on over the years with RPM's up to 6500 RPM and has seen thousands of street miles at approx. 3000 RPM (mostly highway). I've never had any engine problems what so ever. I have full confidence in their "modified" engines. I would probably stay away from their plain rebuilds because they are built on an "assembly line", but their Class 2 & Class 3 engines are hand built by professionals (or at least they use to be - haven't check for a while). I would definitely recommend them. Also, my Dad just bought a 350 Jasper short block for his 32 Ford street rod. I cannot make any comments on that engine yet, because he doesn't have it up and running. :flag
Jasper has been around probably about 50 years. They are an ethical well ran outfit who wants to be around for another 50 years. They have probably rebuilt more engines than hundreds of other shops combined.
Yep, I have a Jasper rebuild. My original engine was pulled and Jasper picked it up and sent it to Baltimore Md. Its called a "class II" rebuild. The only problems I have had were more corvette problems than engine problems. Such as vacuum leaks and such, which didnt allow me to benefit from the added performance. Since, I have fixed leaks, tweaked the carb and timing a few times added a shift kit, and have started enjoying the car. If I had to do it over again I would have gone with a less radical cam, but.... I did just change plugs and #1 plug was fouled pretty bad, so I will keep an eye on it. Runs smooth on the road and gets really good gas mileage for a 350 horse plus engine. I would like more low end power but I'm not done yet.
