I am wondering if it requires a whole lot of modification to install a set of C5 calipers on a C3..... Also would it be a worth while holdover until I can get SSBC all the way around.
There are a lot of modifications required and it is not worth it in the end. If you are talking about using the C5 calipers on your stock rotors, then you will need to fabricate new caliper brackets to mount them. If you are talking about using the C5 rotors as well then you need to machine either the rotors or the hubs to get them to mate up. Also you will lose your parking brake.
Finally, the while the C5 components are lighter, they have smaller pistons. In fact the C5 calipers are not really an improvement over the stock system unless you swap out nearly every brake part including master cylinder to get them to work correctly. If you just install the calipers your brakes will be much worse than stock.
