I purchased one of those cowl wiper covers from either Ecklers or Mid-America.
(I can't remember which one). They are for 1968 thru 1982 Corvettes. Mine is a '77. The cowl came in a large box with that stuffing material that looks like popcorn. I emptied all on the kitchen floor. The only thing in the box, besides popcorn, was the cowl! No directions or hardware!
judging from the picture in the magazine, I would think that all you need to do is get the wiperblades parallel, then lift them off the winshield, and slide the cowl cover down until it gets to the bottom of the wipers, I don't think it would mount to anything...probably just a "gravity" held peice. Remember, Im just judging from what I saw in the picture...I thought about getting one of those too...let me know how it goes.
I've heard people use velcro... sounds weak to me - gravity wont cut it - that much I know.
I would go out and get some of the metal clips that you can screw into and stick them on the flange of the firewall
then hold the item on with screws along the firewall edge. I would then use double sided tape along the winshield glass
to hold that edge in place.
Hope it works for you. I ordered a plastic (ABS) copy from mid america that didnt even come close to fitting
I sent it back and have decided to live with the open cowl.
