Default Winter service

I am about to put my 71 coupe away in my garage for the winter(starting early in Chicago) What do i need to do in terms of preparation as it will not be started up until May 07'? Being an attached garage, the temp. is never much below freezing. Thanks, Scott

Get some gas preserver put it in the tank and run the engine for a bit... make sure the tank is full.

Get the tires off the floor, or you'll get flat spots by the spring... thud thud thud thud.

Get a battery tender.

Run the engine every month or so... let it run it until it gets to operational temp. Rev it a little.

This is what I do, but I'm going to watch this thread to see what I should be doing in addition to what I said.

We had a blizzard yesterday but it's gone now, you still have another month of good driving. I have an attached garage as well and I park the car over a sheet of plastic although it stays very dry and usually above freezing in the garage and I don't use the car cover in winter because I'd rather not seal everything tight which could cause moisture build up. Wash it inside and out as well as clean & raise the top (convertible). Empty the cargo area also to keep it open for moisture control. It might seem ****, but I loosley wrap the plastic up the side of the car that faces the daily drivers and garage door end so that salt drips from the DD's don't blow under the Vette. I fill it with fuel and change the oil prior to winter so that any contaminates in the oil don't harm internal engine parts. I disconnect the negative cable and use a battery tender all winter. I don't start the car until the weather turns, usually early March. Check tire inflation since the pressure will drop as ambient temps fall especiall if you have bias ply tires. So mine only sits about 3 to 4 months and is ready to go the first nice day.
