Default Can this be fixed?

I found a crack in the flexible printed circuit behind my console gauges. I can bridge the tiny torn strand with some copper wire to make the connection to get my clock working...but I'm wondering if there is another option to soldering?
The cost of a new one runs about $200.00 so any advice would be of help.
Thanks!

Ken-
There is a liquid repair for large circuitry paths called Silverprint. It is basically a liquid silver product. I used it on my board and it works fine. An older electronics repair shop probably has it. I borrowed mine from the shop guys at work and they said the small bottle was $75 or so. The results are great and it's easy to use. Good luck.

Ken:
I had the same problem with my Circut Board. I thought my clock was bad, so ordered a new quartz clock, when I pulled the Bezel of, I found that the Printed Circut Board was broke. There was a wire coming out of the back of the clock, that at first I thought was a ground wire or something, but after some information and advice from this forum, I realized that Bubba had been back there already. Anyway, I found one from Corvette Central for $149. I put it in, and was glad, as I notice that the circut board was somewhat brittle. Anyway, I put all new light bulbs in while I was there and won't have to worry about it anymore.

If you can solder I would do it just like you described.
Clean the soldermask off the broken trace(s) and solder a wire across it, just make sure you have all of them!

I used to do this at a TV shop I worked at and it works great, use a nice long piece of wire (like 1/2" ) and it will last forever...

Flex circuits are a «¥¦ƒ to solder. Just a little too much heat and you have a bigger mess than what you started with.

Try rear window defogger repair resin available at any automotive store. Brushes on like paint and it's highly conductive.

Thanks guys... I think I'll try liquid remedies first... I only have about a 16th of an inch gap to close. If that doesn't work... I'll go to guns.... soldering guns that is.
