I met markus_p in Austria
He and his dad met us at our hotel, gave us a tour of the city, and took us out to their home in the suburbs.
Spent some time in the garage talking about our Vettes.
He is doing a fantastic job - what an inspiration...welding, bodywork, clean, clean, clean, paint, paint, paint. Every nut and bolt removed, cleaned and replaced. He works goes into work early (6am), just so that he can get home at 3 and work on it till it gets dark! There's not too many vettes in the area, so as you can image he's very much on his own except for the forum. He and his father (who also owns a vette, a 95, I think) were grateful for their "family" all over the world.
Best moment?
We were going through pictures of our respective projects, and Markus complained bitterly about the Bubba that had worked on his car. Except he pronounced it Booo-ba, not Buh-ba. Just about fell off my chair.
His parents and his girlfriend took us up to the mountains above the city, and then to dinner in a genuine Austrian pub for some great food and music.
Our thanks go out to Markus and his family. They were great hosts and we really enjoyed the evening.
We're hoping we can return the favor someday.

Thanks for the compliments, Jim, I really enjoyed our meeting too.
It was funny to meet someone from the corvetteforum and although I didn´t knew what guy I would actually meet here in Vienna :D , our meeting turned out great.
We had a very good time and I got a chance to test my english knowledge
Zwede, we were going to Grinzing, an area famous for their Heurigen which are geuniune austrian pubs as Ace 77 said before.
Maybe I´ll fly to Canada someday again, then I´ll contact Jim and his nice wife and we´ll meet again.
Hope that both of you enjoyed the visit in Vienna although the weather was/is terrible.
Kind regards
Markus, Girlfriend and Family
I hope to meet some of your overseas (and over-alps
) friends someday, either here in Germany or over the pond in USA, Canada, Australia or where else.Keep those Vettes rollin'
Greetings from Germany
