Default Electric fan wiring ?

I am getting ready to install an electric fan and am wondering about the wiring. I want to install a temp sensor that activates a relay that routes the power to the fan. I want one that screws into the temp sender hole in the passenger head (not the front of the manifold)

Does anyone know off hand what size that hole is?

What sensor is everyone using?

What does it attach to?

Also, where can I get just the thermal switch?

I don't want to buy a whole kit as I have an abundnace of wiring and relays are only a few dollars. Or does the 200 on/180 off thing require more than just the screw in sensor?

Thanks for your help
Chris

The sensor that came with my Spal kit was 195 on/175 off with 3/8" pipe thread. Kit also came with an adapter for 1/2" .
I am pretty sure the hole in the head is 3/8" but don't hold me to it.

Anyway, what I would do is head down to the local NAPA. The sensor I got was said to be an OEM one so I am sure there is an equivalent somewhere. A good parts man should be able to hook you up with one or two in the correct temp range and a good store should be willing to take back any that you don't use.

Good luck.
