I'm looking for an aftermarket shifter (preferrably B&M) for a 69 w/auto trans. Do any of the shifters bolt in w/out having to cut the tunnel. We don't do much w/tranny's here so I don't know what works and doesn't. Thanks for your help.
I know your looking for a B&M, I installed a Hurst V-Matic 2 and it bolted right in place of the stock one.
The B&M shifters are very close to the Hurst.
Most aftermarket auto shifters need the electric window switches moved rearward 2".
It doesn't neccessarily have to be a B&M. It's for a customer of mine and he says he has a hookup at B&M and was just inquiring about a different shifter. I appreciate the feed back.
This link was posted in the Fastest C3 with IRS thread. I don't know what shifter he used but it looks like it bolted in w/o mods. If you figure it out please let me know what it is.
For me the key is that it appears to fit within the stock console. I've been looking for years for a shifter that fits w/o having to custom fab in that area.
