Any 81 owners out there with the correct placement for the rubber hood alignment bumpers. I have the new bumpers with rivets but since my 81 has "none" I want to get the location and hood aligment correct when it is closed.
Gary, Not all cars came with the bumpers. My 81 does not have them either. When I was at Rendezvous in Bolling Green at the NCM, during one of the seminars that very question was asked. They only used them when necessary.

Thanks!
I had one in the left front corner, which set the corner near the windshield higher then the fender by just a bit. I'll remove it and see how it balances out with the fenders. I have a complete set with the rivets for the spare parts collection I guess

I don't have any on my '81, but both corners of the hood near the windshield are higher than the fenders by a bit.

Gary -- use of the bumper blocks was optional and only when needed. They raise the hood to meet fender lines. Placement of the blocks when they are needed will depend upon the car. It's trial and error. You may have to shave the bottom of the blocks to obtain the fit you want.
