I'll admit that in my younger days I've chained motors down when I kept breaking motor mounts, but I'm not sure how I could chain the tranny in there.

Easy. Drill or cut a large hoe on either side, through the frame rails. Cut a chain to the width of the span. Use the carabeeners to attach the chain to the frame...so they are removable...and make sure it's taught. Then, put some bults up through the chain to the trans. Simple bubba fix, and cheap.

Obviously, J/K.

I hate chrome front bumper snobs and rear rubber bumper snobs.

I might put in a big block. I just need heads and an intake. I have a 427 short block right now from my uncles race car

Heads? Cam? Stock rods and crank? Why did he get rid of it? Does it need to be rebuilt?
