Question about harmonic balancers.
Ok, I know what they do, but what about the size.
Mine came with a 8" balancer, but you can also get a 6 3/4" one (i think that's how big it is). What is the difference? Can I use the smaller one?
I ask, as a friend of mne has a brand new 6 3/4" Fluidampner unit he wants to sell, for next to nothing, and I wondered if it would work.

If you change from the larger to the smaller balancer, then you may want to consider changing your timing tab which fits on the front of your timing chain cover, since the old tab will be further away from the balancer than you'd like when timing your engine.
