Default 1977 Electric Window Question

I just picked up a 77 project car. The wiring for the drivers window has the connector disconnected. The insulation was stripped off the end of the wires and if you connected the proper wires (i.e. brown to pink to raise the window, dark blue to pink to lower) the window worked fine. Now it does'nt work. I don't think the hot (pink) wire shorted to ground, as it has an insulated butt splice crimped on it... The passenger side window still works fine. The wiring diagram that I have (a haynes) only shows a circuit breaker which is common to both windows. Are there any other components unique to each side that I should look for? Or should I start with checking the motor itself?
I am new to the Corvette scene, but am having a blast with this one!
