I had those installed on my sbc and yep they make a constant ticking noise. It drove me crazy. I was constantly readjusting the valves hoping the ticking would go away. The ticking never went away. I went to Crane aluminum full roller rockers and everything is all better now. Good luck.
Is your cam solid or hydraulic? If hydraulic, there shouldn't be any noise, unless the lifter isn't taking up all the lash. Are they anti-pump up lifters?
They are not supposed to make noise. Mine are quiet on the hydraulic cammed engines.
How do you know it is a rocker arm making the noise? Have you isolated the particular cylinder yet? Could be header leak, general valvetrain wear, seat issues, piston/head interfearance from ingesting a piece of crap, rocker arm nut backing off, etc.
A bit off from the question, but I don't think there is any advantage to roller-tip rockers. On at least some of the LSx engines, GM has been using rockers with a roller trunion and a standard tip. An archives search should turn up some very interesting past discussions.
It was an exhaust leak .... either cylinder 5 or 7
I need to buy decent gaskets, I think I will go for the header bolts with the locking Allen head
Thanks
Bob

I had that happen on my first time to the drag strip a long time ago. I thought something was really wrong with the motor. Got home and felt pretty stupid for not checking that at the strip. I use Permatex High Temp gasket sealant on the gaskets and the yhave never leaked since. I have even had the gaskets off a few times and still no leaks.
