I have an '80 with a Borg-Warner Super T-10 (rebuilt) with a Hurst shifter. Somewhere along the restore-upgrade process, the back-up light switch did not not get reconnected.
I can see that the back-up switch has a hole in it and the reverse link on the shifter does too.
I don't remember ever seeing how the reverse link connects to the switch.
Do you know how they are supposed to be connected?
you may have to custom bend a rod to work. i damaged mine years ago and have been unable to find a replacement in the catalogs.
i have an assembly manual (for '81) so if all you need is a picture, i may be able to scan and e-mail it to you. P/M me.
maybe a real small carb. choke clip,,, might not be small enough to grip the rod,,,you'd hafta find a parts guy willing to look thru his old crap. But if you bend one end so it cant fall off you'd be half way there, Good Luck,,,Peace,,,Moosie
You can drill a small hole in it and use a cotter pin (use to do that on lawn mowers). File a small flat on it first so the drill doesn't wonder.
Also, ZIP lists one for a 68-73 don't know how close it is to a 80' Cost 11.50 (ST-330)
Here's the one from my 71' looks like it has an extra bend in it over the 78'. If it's long enough you should be able to cobble the ZIP one to fit. I can measure both this weekend if anyone is interested.
You'll have to bend the ends funny so it doesn't fall out of the holes.
Maybe I can get mine off (I lost one clip holding one end) and measure the length.
Anyone know what can be used for a clip ?
I did not use any clips. I put 90 degree bends on both ends that look like a shucane on a race track. To get it installed, remove the switch so that I could fit both ends in to the holes.

That makes sense and doesn't sound difficult to do. Looks like I have my weekend project!
