Well, body lift went a little differently than planned Saturday, but it is off! Due to unexpected lack of personnel, we came up with plan B. We jacked up the body on landscape timbers, rolled out the frame, then rolled in the body dolly. Never had to lift the body. By the way, the older guy in the polka dot shirt crawling around under the car, etc. is my Pop. He'll be 78 next month!
Body dolly plans were great! Thanks Kaiserbud!
Only found rust in 2 spots of the driver side kickup. Passenger side was clean (and I picked it plenty). Don't ask how, but I DEFINITELY learned the importance of the ratchet strap to support the nose.
Thanks to all for info, advice, etc. Enjoy the pics!
Completd body dolly
Important little ratchet strap
Raising the body
Rolling out the frame
Rolling in the dolly
Setting the body on the dolly
Done!

Wow that looks familiar. I had the same rust. Welded in some new steel, sand blasted and powder coated. Makes you feel good when you putting the new parts on the 'new' frame.
And when you get bored you can climb the walls!

Thanks guys. The wife is the rock climber. I like to keep both my feet firmly planted in the floorboard of a Corvette!
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to FINALLY making some progress toward re-assembly. Just a couple more rear suspension/drivetrain parts, then I build my blasting booth & blast off!

Not yet. Since she is #'s matching, I am going to try to stay as original as possible given my rookie abilities. So I got a '69 judging manual and saw that an asphalt based paint was used on the frame?
I have also heard a lot of guys talk about this stuff called POR15?
Do you know anything about either one of these?
