80/84 Vette Engine Mod Recommendations
Gentlemen and Ladies:
I have 1980 non numbers matching vette with a 1984 block (9.1 comp) and heads (462624 76cc 1.94/1.50) and the 1980 intake manifold, carb and emissions goodies. It has the original th350 trans and a 307 rear. The engine and drive train are in good shape. I am in Alabama and do NOT have to concern myself with any emissions controls. I intend to keep the pulled emission parts in a nice box to admire and pass on if I ever sell it. I am putting an honest dual exhaust on it but want to keep the rams horns exhaust. I do not want to change out the rear end, nor put a modfied stall converter in it. Within those two constraints I am looking for two potential stages of modficiations. One is a cam only change and the second is a cam plus heads change. I want low end grunt and can live with a redline of 5500rpm. I have about $2000 tucked away for this. I do NOT have to spend it all! Any and all recommendations are welcome.
