A/c blows cold but it blow out the floor vents only ?? any help

the vac selector in the console ususlly leaks, you may have to take it apart, clean and lube it and reassemble using a screw and nylock nut. It is assembled with a rivit now
Check the vac line from the manifold to the firewall also, it is a small black line that goes thru a large gromet on the firewall

On the back of your heater and air control is a round plastic with a bunch of vac. holes to it. You might have a bad hose in that bunch but
my 81 had a leaking rubber gasket in the piece that the hoses connect to. It has been a year since I fix my but I think there is one screw that
keeps the unit together. If I remember correctly, I shim the screw to put more tension on it and valseline the rubber. I did not mark relationship
of the rubber with vanes in it and took me over an hour getting it in the
correct position. I would hold it together with one hand and move the
lever with the other untell I found the correct position. Than when I
put the fastner on it would leak again. I finally found the right flat washer to have tension 360 degree around. A few days later I found
one in a corvette parts catalog listing the gasket separately for 26.00.
Thinking of buying one just in case this goes to hell again.
