has anyone used or are using digital gauges on the c3 vettes NORDSKOG in summitt cataloge offers them and wanted to check some thoughts before investing in some :flag :flag :flag
Since you're asking for opinions... I'm sure there are lots of very fine digital gauges out there, but I'd never use anything but analog, personally, for one very simple reason. Analog gauges allow you to scan the gauges at a glance and know immediately if something is amiss, because you know what the engine vital signs are simply by the position of the needles. For example, there's no need to actually read the engine coolant temp, because you know that if the needle is at about the 12 o'clock position, you're OK. Same thing with the oil pressure gauge, ammeter, and even the speedometer. No so with digitals. If you want to know what your water temp is, you have to read the digital number. It's distracting. It takes a lot longer than scanning analogs. At 70 mph you cover about 100 ft. every second. I like to keep my eyes on the road as much as I can.
Never thought of it like that but I'm planning on using blue digitals in my 81' I'll see if I can find the website and post it here when i get back to the dorm... I know I have it bookmarked at home.
