Default manual light switch

cant find where the button is to put up my lights on my 1981 :confused:

you can either pull out the headlight **** all the way, or there is a vacuum switch underneath the steering wheel by your legs, it's a tiny black **** that you pull down. Since it's vacuum the engine has to be on for it to work.

Look where your hood release is, and then go 6 inches to the right of that, and there it is.

I also had problems locating the vacuum switch. Turns out that the **** was broken off flush with the panel covering the steering column. It should be there and it will have (2) vacuum hoses connected to it.

There is a cover plate right below the steering column. Take out the 4 screws and the switch should be attached to that cover. That's how it is on my '80 anyway.

I heard stores about it being broken off...the best way to find it is sit on the door sill and look up under there...you'll see it even if its broken.
