For over 1000 for a manual rack, I find it too expensive.
For this price, you get the servo rack from Stereoid or the Jeep recirculating ball servo rack for even less.
Why do you want to install a manual rack ? The original C3 manual system is very tight and responsive as is.
How many times you have that bracket on and off the car, how many cars?? it looks like the bolts were wrung on it really over tight enough to damage the metal.....and how in hell you ever generate enough force to tear the metal on the rack mount that way?? my brackets I home installed of my own design are much lighter then theirs in design, and been on the car since '01 now with no problems even 2% of that bad....and mine are smaller and lighter.....makes no sense to me....
I installed this system when it first came out and that was the first and last time they were installed. They weren't over tightened at all they did that to themselves. I drive this car every chance I get so there is some drive time on this system. I never was Abel to completely get the bind out of it either. It was slight but always there. I could modify it to eliminate the bind and reinforce the brackets to not crack but It still has no feedback when I drive and I don't care for the aluminum tie rods .I know what your thinking and NO this vette was never hit and the body bushings are good . Its just a poor design thats all I'm going to say about that. So back to the original question has anyone tried this system?
I Know You Stated The Care Wasnt Hit, But Sure Looks To Me Like It Ran Over Somthing. Had Mine One For 3 Yrs Now And Hit A Curb That Bent The Bottom A Arm And Did Noting To The Brackets On The Steriod System.
I don't have any experience with this kit but I do know the Mustang guys complained about the lack of support and that the Mustang kit didn't fit if you had headers.

Never hit anything positive of that it is from flexing over the years.
I'm not sure that the Flaming river brackets look any stronger...
I would call Steeroids and see if you can get new brackets, I know they have improved the brackets over the years.
As far as the over boosted feel there are ways to get around that too.
The rack itself is a good solution.

The flaming river set up has a cross member that goes from rail to rail. (much stronger)
They sent me the updated brackets and double universal joint free witch was very nice of theme. But I assure you it will happen again the brackets have allot of flex and the upper joint is on to much of an angel and binds very slightly and ware's it self out. That rack needs to be mounted solid on a cross member. But this is beating a dead horse I'm done with it its either going to be a jeep box or flaming river setup.
