Default Paint inside Engine Compartment

I am restoring a 69 convertible an am wondering if the black paint on the hood hinges / support and headlight restaining cups is flat or semi gloss

semi- flat...try the Krylon semi-flat available at True value etc etc...very close match and covers well.

I've always used Rustoleum satan black on mine for all such work including the frame. I've read in restoration guides that the factory used the the cheapest lacquer paint they could find to spray for this area of the car.

I topcoated my frame, engine compartment, wiper compartment, and the entire under body (including the wheel wells) with Krylon. It sounds like its the cheap/ghetto way of doing it, but the results are great. It also will be an easy color to touch-up in the future once things get a little worn looking.

Krylon really is the way to go.

Actually Krylon is one of the faster drying paints in a can!
To me, that is a big plus!!
