This may be why my times were not as good as I thought. With the Mighty demon it must have changed the geometry of the linkage slightly. I had my son mash the throttle and I'm getting about 7/8 of the throttle. The plates are not fully open. Have to relocate the hole in the throttle arm. If you change something in the linkage or carb make sure you check this. I should know better and usually check this.
I put in bigger jets and will fix the throttle then back to the track. Hopefully better mph!
Do you have a floor mat that goes under the gas pedal? If so, remove it. There is at least a 50HP penalty if you have floor mats that get in the way of the gas pedal being depressed fully. Could be an easy fix.
I did about 6 years ago. Disposed of them for that reason. I do have a Lokar throttle cable. I redrilled the throttle arm so I now have full range of throttle. I made sure they are open fully now.

I had to do this also....Mighty Demons, 800 Edelbrocks, and the larger Holleys all have a throttle arm arc larger than stock Vette carbs. Lokar and a cordless drill solved that problem.
