Default Trailing Arm Trouble

I went to get an alignment after a front end rebuild and the rear trailing arm bushings are all but gone. Guess I'm in for another not so fun job.
Before I ask the question, I will get a sawzall and cut the bolts off.

My question is does anyone have a step by step "how to" on this project like lars had for the front end rebuild?

Besides new bolts and bushings, what other parts should I look at replacing once I get the trailing arms out?

Thanks for the help.

Check the bearings for excessive play and you'll probably want to rebuild the E-brakes "while you're at it".

If the arms are in rough shape you could look into exchanging them for rebuilt arms. I have a pair of Van Steel rebuilt arms and I was amazed at how good they look. There are other vendors and members on the forum who rebuild arms also. I have only dealt with Van Steel and they rate a in my book.

You will need some special tools to undertake the task yourself. They aren't cheap so if you can borrow or rent them great, if not, you might be better off going with a place like Bairs or Van Steel.

I was able to borrow all the tools to do mine and it does take some serious time to do it right.

If you search for rear wheel bearing byt GT1999 he shows you exactly step by step what to do, better yet here is the link.

gtr1999 has a lot of good info on this. Send him a pm and I'm sure he'll be helpful-he also does the rebuilds and is quite good at it from what I understand.

If the bolts are rusted to the bushing sleeves, you're in for some pain. Make sure you have plenty of good blades and aspirin.

I installed new SS shims in place of the rusty ones.
