U-joints? Help
I want to replace u joints. Where to start?
I changed the diff oil with GM lube and additive.
I feel a scrub sound when I firts start to move in drive and reverse?
Almost everything new on car. I have not changed u joints my friend thinks this is where sound is coming from. Any Ideas?

To replace cut out with torch, use Spicer solids, and bolt the flange to a steel plate to keep from bending it. Forget about using a vise to pop them out.

I removed the short shafts from my 1979 C3. I did not have the means or time to replace the joints myself so I contacted a local shop to have it done. The charge for replacing the joints and them balancing the shaft was $75.00 per shaft. They also had a complete short shaft assembly built, balanced and ready to install. The cost for 2 short shafts ready to install was $120.00. So I just bought the new ones and saved a few bucks. Just a thought.
