Headlight Actuator Adjustment??
Is the headlight actuator threaded pivot at the end of it's push rod, on a 1971, to be adjusted with the door in the open position and to be just slightly "longer" than the slotted track in the linkage?
In other words, with the vaccumn on and the door in open postion, the actuator is slightly pushing on the linkage to open the door?...this is after the linkage open stop has engaged.

The linkage should be slightly over center so that it is locked in the up position (so that if you try to push the open door down, it is locked). There shouldn't be any force transmitted to the actuator when the headlights are up. The actuator link should be at the end of the slot, but just barely.
